Job Overview: The Family Engagement and Empowerment Division (FEED) California Department of Social Services are looking for a Associate Governmental Program Analyst who can perform the more complex difficult, and sensitive administrative reviews (ARs) of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) which are mandated federally by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.


The AGPA are Subject Matter Experts, particularly with financial evaluation of the ARs. They will complete all areas of the ARs within child care centers, adult day care centers, emergency shelters, at-risk child care centers and day care home reviews to ensure state requirements and federal regulations are met. In addition, they will complete highly sensitive assignments which involve follow-up, complaints, problematic and seriously deficient reviews.


Some duties include:

  • Conducting CACFP Administrative Review activities

  • Technical assistance and training

  • Communication and outreach, e.g., collaborating with other program sections, stakeholders, and partner divisions

  • Departmental task, e.g., preparing written reports

This position requires at least 50 percent travel. Travel is expected within the local area region and throughout California.
