Job Overview: The Child and Adult Care Food Program Branch (CACFP) at the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) is seeking highly motivated leaders who are excited to contribute their creativity and passion to the effort to provide equitable access to nutritious meals for infants, children, and adults in California. If you enjoy collaborating with a great and passionate team, this is the perfect position for you. We have semi-flexible schedules in a hybrid (remote/telework and in-office) work environment.


The Staff Services Manager (SSM) I Specialist will lead and perform project management activities for the CACFP Branch, as part of the Field Services Bureau, the team focused on program monitoring and support. These activities will include leading collaboration in areas such as communication and relationship building, disaster response planning, policy analysis and development, and supporting the program with a focus on access, expansion, equity, and community engagement.


Other responsibilities of the SSM I Specialist include promoting a workplace environment and culture of psychological safety, collaboration, equity, and inclusion; reviewing and evaluating staff work; meeting and working with internal and external partners; and attending or presenting at conferences.
