Job Title: Project/Program Specialist (Restricted Funds)

Organization: Mt. San Antonio College Child Development Center

Location: Walnut, CA

Hours: Monday - Friday: 7:30am - 4:00pm

Salary: $5,205 - $6,643 / monthly


Job Description: The Child Development Center (CDC) is a state licensed early childhood education and care facility serving up to 185+ families, in a school year, with children 2 months - 5 years old. As part of a full day program, three (3) meals are provided to children daily under the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) sponsored by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and administered by the California Department of Social Services. It is typical for some children to have special diets due to allergies and developmental needs, and the CACFP requires accommodations for these children. The Project/Program Specialist will assist the CDC Director in planning and operating all aspects of the CACFP program and other nutrition-based projects, including nutrition accommodations, meal planning, and staff training according to CACFP guidelines. The Project/Program Specialist will often work with CDC staff, community and college partners, meal preparation vendors, families, as well as college students to assist in complying with CACFP requirements and CDC nutrition priorities.


Duties and Responsibilities include:

Under general supervision, assists in planning, organizing, coordinating, and providing direction and oversight of assigned projects and/or programs; provides routine administrative and operational support for assigned projects and/or programs; plans and coordinates education and outreach efforts; evaluates program effectiveness and makes recommendations for operational, policy, and procedural improvements; develops, summarizes, and maintains program records and reports; fosters cooperative working relationships with students, staff, and faculty.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Equivalent to an Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited college; and

  • One (1) full time equivalent year of responsible program or project coordination experience.
